“Charon” is named for the ferryman of the River Styx from Greek mythology. Cranes are a symbol of longevity, but they are also the ones who ferry the souls of the dead to the afterlife just like Charon of myth. This piece represents endings, but there is a tranquil peace about it. Life and death, endings and beginnings, are simply reflections of one another.
